  • I was back in the Midwest recently on vacation. We stopped into Peg's for cupcakes. There was a line to the door and they were almost sold out, which is always a good sign. We bought 6 cupcakes: 3 Cookie Monsters, 1 gluten free chocolate, 1 Mommie Dearest (with mini-"Wire" hanger) and 1 Apple Cinnamon. The staff were really nice. The cupcakes were $15 for 6, and I was really impressed with how fresh and gourmet they tasted. I later emailed to buy a gift card as a thank you gift for my family, and Peg emailed me & spoke with me on the phone. The transaction was friendly and smooth. I hope that the community continues to support this lovely small business. Peg's also does custom orders. I am still dreaming of the Mommie Dearest...No Wire Hangerrrrrrrs!   • After reading the story in the newspaper about Peg's Baking Company opening up, I had to stop in and see what all of the fuss was about. Wow! I had a hard time choosing what sweet treat to indulge in, I went for the cherry turnover pastry. It was amazing! So light and flakey, so fresh. Mmmm, I'm going to be thinking about that cherry pastry for a long time. I talked to Peg about my french bakery food adventures and what makes a good pastry. She knows her stuff. She takes custom orders for just about anything. Cupcakes and cakes being her main focus, but AMAZING pastries as well. Scones, muffins, etc. you get the picture.
